While Hollywood was shocked at the sudden demise of Matthew Perry ,famous for his role in Friends. Recognition of Matthew’s role as the beloved Chandler Bing would be remembered after he died, Perry actually wished more personal part of his legacy to be mentioned in the way he wanted.
Narrating his long struggle with addiction in his 2022 memoir as an actor ,in Friends, lovers, and the Bing Terrible Thing-mentioned, But he showed to have pride in sharing his dream that was to help those who overcome the personal endeavors.
While in an interview with Tom Power in Nov.2022 he said.” The best thing about me, bar none, is if somebody comes up to me and say, ‘I can’t stop drinking, can your help me?” I can say yes and follow this up and do it right now,”
Matthew notes is as ,” And I’ve said this for a long time; when I die, I don’t want Friends to be the first thing that’s mentioned. I want that to be the first thing that’s mentioned, and I am going to live my rest of life proving that.”
