Tesla as taking a big step to repair a huge lot of more than 1.6 million cars in China with Autopilot features and locks problems, according to state regulatory authorities. An over-the -air software update will be repairing both the issues, regulators further said that drivers need not to take there vehicles anywhere from their places.

It was informed by Chinese State Administration for Market Regulation that the effect of recalling so many vehicles by Tesla will be on models like Model S, X AND Y vehicles as drivers found to misuse driving assistance feature that lead to increase the risk of collision of vehicles and that also pose safety risks. There was recalls of Model S and Model X cars amounting to more than 7500 over the concerns as during an accident, the unlocking of the non-collision side door.

Knowing some of the features of Autopilot to be easy to misuse and being creating confusion, there was about 2 million cars recalled by the safety regulatory authorities in U.S. This follows a likely one as in China that U.S. also done the same action. This was announced in Dec.2023 by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Authority(NHTSA) found that Autosteer feature is such a feature that lead to increase the risk of collision and also chances of the misuse by the drivers as the significance and scope of this feature’s was quite insufficient. The filing record shows that the Autosteer was such a feature of Tesla’s Basic Autopilot concern intended to use in the places where controlled access highways are there. This also provide braking and acceleration support along with steering.

Tesla though did not accept this situation and agency’s findings as in filings but make agreement in this way to roll out a software update for free to clear the problem with proper resolutions system.
