The famous New York’s daily, The New York Times sues both Microsoft and OpenAI today and accused the platforms of using number of newspapers’ articles in there software without seeking prior permission to use that copyrighted work to train technologies used in artificial intelligence at large.

The NYT made it point that we are the first media organization of U.S. who sued both Microsoft and Open AI, creating Chat GPT and so many other platforms using Artificial Intelligence, bringing the copyright matter into the notice of the authorities and pleaded for action against these platforms to stop them from using the copyrighted material for their own interest without the prior permission from the media agencies related to news and the newspapers.

This was learnt according to the complaint filed in the federal court of Manhattan, New York city. It is said, “Defendants seek to free-ride on the Times’s huge investment in its journalism by using it to build substitutive products without permission or payment,”

Initially it was reported that The NYT is not seeking or expecting any amount for compensating the damages to its organization but on the other hand The Times have strong believe that much of the monetary damage have been incurred that is caused by OpenAI and Microsoft amounting to “Billions of dollars” specifically damaging by illegal copying and breaching by using the copyrighted work of the organization for the last many months since the inception of OpenAI platform.

When the media contacted OpenAI and Microsoft to comment on the said legal appeal against them ,there was no immediate and prompt response from the said platforms and were silent on this issue.
